The Sunsynk L5.1 has arrived on the portal!
SegenSolar has always been eager to listen to your thoughts on our offering as South Africa’s one-stop shop for solar products — sending out customer surveys on a regular basis. That is because your feedback tells us what we need to do to improve as a distributor and continue our path of improvement year on year.
Whilst our use of customer feedback is perhaps most evident in our recent removal of collection fees, something that was requested in many of our surveys, this change is not the only thing we have done recently to better your experiences as a SegenSolar customer…
Lately, many installers have said they would like to see us stock more products from Sunsynk: the world-famous South African energy storage solution manufacturer. So, that is exactly what we have done.
We are thrilled to announce that the new Sunsynk L5.1 battery is live on the portal now, with stock arriving before the end of the year. Learn more about the brand and its exceptional release below; trust us, you will want to be in the know about this!
Some background on Sunsynk
Having been established more than 20 years ago, Sunsynk sits amongst some of the most experienced and knowledgeable names in today’s PV industry — and it certainly has the credentials to show for it.
First and foremost, Sunsynk has spent two and a half decades investing in top technologies — resulting in truly innovative PV system components. For example, Sunsynk broke new ground when it released the MAX 16kW inverter: a single-phase hybrid model with Wi-Fi included.
This impressive unit, which is suitable for single and triple-phase off-grid, grid support, backup and self-consumption systems, is the largest inverter of its kind in the world, according to Sunsynk CEO Keith Gough.
Moreover, Sunsynk is a keen participator in the wider solar landscape. For instance, in 2023, the brand’s team exhibited at huge events like Solar & Storage Live, the UK’s largest renewable energy exhibition, and Intersolar Europe — proving its commitment to the PV industry.
With all this in mind, it should come as no surprise that Sunsynk has rounded off the year with another cutting-edge product, which comes with all the features you would expect from such a well-established frontrunner.
An overview of the new battery
The L5.1 is a 5.12kWh, 51.2V battery reaping the benefits of lithium-ion phosphate (LiFEPO4) technology, which is known for providing enhanced performance, safety and lasting power.
Especially suitable for high-power application scenarios with limited installation space, the L5.1 supports reliable power for various system types (both residential and commercial) thanks to its ability to parallel up to an astounding 32 units.
Safety is no issue with this product, as the L5.1 comes equipped with a built-in battery management system (BMS), which can manage and monitor information about the battery’s cells, including voltage, current and temperature. So, the risk of irregular conditions and subsequent system damage is significantly reduced — keeping costly maintenance and repair costs at bay for a more cost-effective solution.
The L5.1’s BMS can also balance charging and discharge operations to extend the battery’s cycle life, meaning it needs replacing less often, which is ideal for end-users’ wallets and the environment. Plus, to prove this product is built to last, Sunsynk equips the L5.1 with a generous 10-year warranty.
Plenty of Sunsynk’s newest battery will be available via SegenSolar by 30 November 2023 — giving you lots of time to decide how many units to order and complete some great installations before 2024 rolls around…
