Success at The Solar Show Africa 2023!
As Africa’s largest (and most highly anticipated) PV exhibition, The Solar Show is always a huge success — with attendees and exhibitors from around the globe enjoying unparalleled networking opportunities and talks from the best in the business.
And this year was no different!
The Solar Show Africa 2023 welcomed thousands of industry professionals to the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg from 25 to 26 April. We were honoured to be a part of the action alongside some of the most popular manufacturers stocked on the SegenSolar portal, which helped us run our very own events before and after the show.
So, in celebration of another great year at this world-famous date in the solar calendar, here is a run-down of everything that went on during the two-day event…
A sold-out Pre-Solar-Show workshop
Like last year, we kicked off The Solar Show with a dedicated training workshop. This event is designed to provide our customers with valuable knowledge on product application and installation — and it certainly met the mark!
The workshop was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton and sponsored by FoxESS, the headline sponsor, JA Solar and KD Solar. It featured a session led by Nicolaas Faure Van Schalkwyk, the head of PV training at SUNCybernetics Pty Ltd (The Solar Training Centre), who skilfully educated attendees on national solar power regulations and offered advice on how to comply with them.
The event was so popular that it sold out before the show — and we were delighted to see so many eager learners there.
Two jam-packed show days
Several big-name manufacturers stocked on our portal made an appearance at The Solar Show Africa 2023.
FoxESS, which is known for its cutting-edge batteries and inverters, held the fort at stand B132 — the team was thrilled to speak to many customers (old and new) about the brand’s portfolio.
The string inverter expert, Solis, was also eager to showcase its portfolio at stand B90, where attendees flocked to learn more about the manufacturer and its offering.
Canadian Solar and JA Solar also welcomed installers to their stands (A62 and A162), speaking about their market-leading PV panels.
An outstanding VIP event
We were delighted to return to the San Deck at the Sandton Sun Hotel for the SegenSolar VIP Networking Event, which we also held last year.
Kindly sponsored by a long list of manufacturers, including our headline sponsor FoxESS, KD Solar, JA Solar, Renusol, Pylontech, Solis, Seraphim and Canadian Solar, this event provided an opportunity for installers to wind down after a busy day at The Solar Show Africa 2023.
Attendees were lucky to chat with some of the most influential members of the solar industry at an esteemed venue, where a delicious dinner and drinks were also served, and it was a pleasure to bring so many like-minded professionals together.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who made this event (and the entire show) a success — and we cannot wait to do it all again next year.
Until then, we will be hosting many more face-to-face events in 2023; keep an eye out for updates!
