Solis unveils new launches at The Solar Show

SegenSolar customers will know that we are always eager to get involved in face-to-face events, whether that is by running our installer training sessions or taking to the stands at world-famous exhibitions. The reason for this? Meeting up in person provides the invaluable opportunity to catch up with old faces, form new professional connections and, perhaps most importantly, see the latest and greatest PV products up close.

One other company that shares this keenness to see its customers in the flesh is Solis, which has been known to make an appearance at numerous high-profile solar events throughout its history — including The Solar Show Africa.

Solis was amongst thousands of exhibitors to meet and greet attendees at this famed annual event towards the end of April, kicking up a storm with its friendly, intelligent team and dazzling portfolio, which will welcome three brand-new inverters very soon… Keep reading to find out more!

This year’s exhibition in a nutshell

For those who did not get a chance to attend The Solar Show Africa 2023, it was a hugely impressive event as always.

Spread across two jam-packed days, the show was held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg — bringing thousands of manufacturers, suppliers, investors, installers and more under one roof.

Like last year, we also hosted our VIP Networking Event after the first event day. As an exclusive evening of dinner and drinks hosted at an esteemed rooftop venue, this soiree provided an opportunity for show attendees to continue conversations and unwind. Plus, it was kindly sponsored by Solis!

However, the manufacturer’s presence at The Solar Show did not end there.

On both event days, Solis set up camp at stand B90. Here, its team of string inverter experts welcomed crowds of eager learners looking to learn more about this world-famous brand’s offering, answering questions about installation and getting to know its customers.

Yet little did stand visitors know that they would be amongst some of the people to ever see Solis’ next big product range, which was showcased for the first time at the recent The Solar Show…

The S6 Pro Advanced Hybrid Inverters

Designed to cater specifically to the South African market, Solis’ latest releases promise to help end-users escape load shedding, wave goodbye to skyrocketing energy bills and transition away from environmentally damaging fossil fuels.

These new hybrid inverters combine solar generator and battery connectivity with automatic on/off control and are available in 5kW, 6kW and 8kW capacities with respective maximum PV input ratings of 8000W, 9600W and 12800W.

Compatible with both lead-acid and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and able to support both single and three-phase connections, the inverters ensure maximum versatility for the diverse requirements of South African PV systems.

What’s more, these inverters offer six customisable charge/discharge time settings, allowing users to adjust the system to suit their needs as the country’s energy landscape changes. They also have high charge and discharge currents and 200% surge power backup overload capability, supporting an uninterrupted power supply with a 4 milisecond reaction time.

Maximising ease of use are the Wi-Fi-LAN data logger, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that enable 24/7 real-time intelligent energy management via SolisCloud and the smart LED screen displaying key product information. Plus, as can be expected of any Solis product, the new S6 inverters boast maximum efficiencies of up to 97.5% and 5-year warranties that can be extended up to 10 years.

Speaking with the Renewable Energy Magazine about the launch, our chief sales officer Thabo Makhanya said, ‘We were delighted to cooperate so closely with Solis to successfully develop, trial and prove a flexible and reliable inverter solution that alleviates long-term power shortages’.

We cannot wait for stock of these innovative inverters to arrive — and to provide even better relief to a range of power-constrained regions.
